Hi guys ! Salam UiTM di hatiku 💜. My name is Nik Nur Fatihah Binti Mohd Lazin and now currently studying at UiTM Melaka, Jasin Campus as one of Diploma Agrotechnology (AT1103B) student. I am 20 years old and living in Terengganu.

     I am mainly doing this portfolio to introduce the students to our activities that we did on every Friday.

The 0.5DP Insecticide, which we purposefully used is intended for killing ants


Contains active ingredients from the "PYRETHROID" group

Purpose: Pyrethroid insecticides are used to control a wide range of pests, including mosquitoes, flies, ants, fleas, ticks, and other insects.

Application: Pyrethroids can be applied as sprays, dusts, baits, or in the form of granules. They can also be used as fumigants or applied as a residual treatment to surfaces. Pyrethroids can be used in a variety of settings, including residential, commercial, agricultural, and public health.

Compatibility: Pyrethroids are generally compatible with other insecticides, fungicides, and herbicides. However, they may be less effective if applied at the same time as certain fungicides or in the presence of high levels of organic matter.

Suitability: Pyrethroids are highly effective against a broad spectrum of insects, but they may not be suitable for use in all situations. They can be harmful to non-target organisms, including beneficial insects and some aquatic species, and they may also be toxic to cats and fish. Additionally, overuse or misuse of pyrethroids can lead to the development of resistance in insect populations, which can reduce their effectiveness over time. As with any pesticide, it is important to carefully read and follow the label instructions to ensure safe and effective use.

The mini spoon we used precisely measured 10 g, which is suitable for dispersing 0.5DP insecticide

The ant-killing powder bait we used is also one of the methods for repelling ants from durian trees

Insecticides offer several advantages to trees:

1. Pest Control: Insecticides help control populations of harmful insects that can infest trees. These pests can include caterpillars, beetles, aphids, and borers, among others. By reducing insect populations, insecticides prevent damage to leaves, buds, flowers, and fruits, which can inhibit photosynthesis, growth, and reproduction in trees.

2. Disease Prevention: Many insects are vectors for plant diseases. By controlling insect populations with insecticides, the spread of diseases carried by these insects can be minimized. For example, certain beetles can transmit fungal infections to trees, and controlling the beetles can help prevent the spread of these diseases.

3. Long-Term Sustainability: By protecting trees from insect pests and diseases, insecticides contribute to the long-term sustainability of forests, orchards, urban green spaces, and other tree populations. Healthy trees provide numerous ecological benefits, including oxygen production, carbon sequestration, wildlife habitat, and soil stabilization.
